Revised Definition of Terms Used in Statutory Plan and Broad Use Terms (July 2025)
The Town Planning Board (TPB) on 11 July 2025 promulgated the revised Definition of Terms used in Statutory Plan (DoTs) and Broad Use Terms (BUTs), which take immediate effect. The major revisions are as follows:
DoTs and BUTs
To take forward the latest policy initiatives and reflect industry diversity, amendments have been made to the land use term, Definition and/or Remarks of DoTs for the following terms:
- ‘Hotel’
- ‘Public Utility Installation’ (Chinese version only)
- ‘Public Utility Pipeline’ (Chinese version only)
- ‘Research, Design and Development Centre’ (Chinese version only)
- ‘Shop and Services’
- ‘Utility Installation for Private Project’ (Chinese version only)
Relevant terms in BUTs have been amended consequentially in accordance with the revised DoTs.
The following term has been deleted from DoTs and BUTs:
- ‘Laboratory, Research, Design and Development Centre’
